Residents may use their personal passenger vehicle or pickup truck, or they may use a rental pickup truck (i.e., U-Haul, Rider, Home Depot, etc.) with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) under 6,000 pounds to enter the convenience centers. No commercial contractors or vehicles are allowed to use the facilities. Citizens are reminded of the Streets Department actions to support neighborhood clean-up efforts. With two weeks advanced planning any organization such as a school, house of worship, civic association, etc., can arrange with the Streets Department for support for block cleanings. We will supply equipment and pick-up the rubbish collected. The Streets Department already supports its network of 6,500 block captains through the Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee (PMBC).
